What exactly is liposuction? Is this a way to lose weight?Risks? How much wgt. can!

Question: its a usually cosmetic surgical procedure in which excess fatty tissue is removed from a specific area of the body, such as the thighs or abdomen, by means of suction. Also called suction lipectomy

The concept of liposuction is surprisingly simple. Liposuction is a surgical technique that improves the body's contour by removing excess fat from deposits located between the skin and muscle. Liposuction involves the use of a small stainless steel tube, called a cannula (from the Latin word for reed, tube, cane). The cannula is connected to a powerful suction pump and inserted into the fat through small incisions in the skin. Fat removal is accomplished as the suction cannula creates tiny tunnels through the fatty layers. After surgery, these tiny tunnels collapse and thus result in an improved body contour.

They basically suck the fat from a certain area of your body.

It's a surgical procedure, and with every surgery, there are risks involved- bleeding, infection, adverse reaction to anesthesia.

It's a quick way to lose weight/fat. However, it's a short term solution. If you don't change your diet or exercise habits, then you are likely to regain all the weight.
