Could ear and neck be connected?!

Question: I was diagnosed with a double ear infection two weeks ago and just finished my meds. My ears are still bothering me and now I have a stiff neck.
Also, this is my second double ear infection in less than two months.
Should I go back to the doctor? Could my ear and neck be connected? And should I be alarmed by having two double ear infections that close together?

I would definitely return to MD. Get the MD take a culture to make sure he gives you an antibiotic that is effective for the infection you have.

I doubt that your ear infection is causing you a stiff neck. It could be that your ear infections are a prodromal symptom of your neck getting stiff. Are you getting headaches in addition to the stiff neck? Sit in a chair & see if you can bend your head down to your knees without getting pain.
I don't mean to alarm you, but if you have pain doing that it could be meningitis.

2 double ear aches in 2 months is a real bummer.

Hope you feel better soon.

Your ear and neck are connected. So maybe you ear is draining into your neck and causing your neck to be stiff...I would just go back to the doctor if it doesnt clear up within a couple of days

My kids' Doctor used to recommend chewing gum, sucking hard candy constantly when they had ear infections to keep the fluid moving so they wouldn't get the stiff neck. It helped them. Good luck. I think you never got rid of the first infection.
