Answers: wats the best way to get off of it if your addicted

If you can't take a treatment place.... and i mean you REALLY have tried (though you should try again, because you're not giving it your best effort) than you can always lock yourself into methadone, but do a SLOW DETOX, not MAINTENANCE, cuz that is just as bad. Slow detox you really don't feel any discomfort unless you're a mental case.

An inpatient treatment facility......truthfully.
I work for a criminal attorney and see many addicts. The most successful are the ones that have gone in for treatment.

your not going to like it but quitting cold turkey is the best way, find a rehab clinic that can help you, cause when your body goes through the withdrawls it can literaly kill you, but after you make it through that then brighter days are ahead, but first and foremost you have to really want to to stop or the rest is just bull ****

it depends on the level of addiction. if it is extremely advanced one should be weaned off by methadone. go to a treatment facility.

once a heroin addict, always a heroin addict. for the rest of your life you will think about it.

Detoxing & kicking any substance abuse problem is not something one can really do on their own, unfortunately.

I strongly suggest finding a counselor/therapist/psychiatrist whom is an addiction medicine specialist (like Dr. Drew LOL). They will not judge you or be angry w/you. If anything, they will be relieved that another person has decided to take a responsible step at controlling their addiction & saving their own lives.

Also, not everyone needs to go to rehab to kick the habit, however, getting the doctor part involved is crutial. This is very important because you are taking a big step in your life & it's going to be a very emotional, bumpy ride full of changes. You are going to need the help of an experienced, qualified professional. Together, you & the dr. will come up w/a treatment plan.

If you do not have medical/health insurance, look up local mental health centers/clinics (they are generally county named, if you can't find them listed, call your local hospital, they can give you the names & numbers). They work on sliding scales usually (meaning, going by your income) & if you don't have the money to pay, often they will give you treatment for free & help you apply for grant money to cover your treatement.

Best of luck to you, I hope you take this important step & I wish you the best of luck, it will not be easy, but you can do it!

The only experience I have with this is from a friend of mine that had gotten into this kind of trouble after we had kind of distanced each other. She went several years trying to kick it herself and finally went into treatment. She was doing really great and had started to get back on her feet. Then one day she came home after going in to get her methodone treatment, fell asleep and didn't wake up. The official cause of death was methodone overdose. So apparently her treatment center gave her too much. If that is the route that you end up going, please be very careful.
