How can you control seasickness?!

Question: I'm going to be on a cruise this year with my friend, and I get car sick. I'm concerned I might get sea sickness, and this one girl got so sick they had to give her a shot!

Is there a way to avoid it?

I'd start with something as benign as possible. My dad and I went on a whale watch when I was a kid. We took ginger pills beforehand, and we were the only two who weren't sick when it got choppy. I highly recommend the ginger pills.

They also make bands (I think they're called sea bands) that go on your wrist and have a little button that presses on the inside of your wrist on a pressure point that relieves nausea and seasickness. You can also find the place and press on it yourself. On the inside of your wrist, measure down from the very bottom of your hands. The width of two fingers (laid across your wrist) shows you how far down to go. Press in the center of your wrist, with the opposite thumb, just below where the two fingers were. It should feel a little bit uncomfortable. Pregnant women do this when they want to avoid drugs.

Beyond that, dramamine (I recommend anti-drowsy unless you intentionally want to sleep through it all) is good, but you can't stay on it constantly while on a cruise, so I'd really try to make it work with the other options, above.

Realize that cruise ships are huge so you may not feel any significant motion at all. I'd give it a shot before taking anything (though the "sea bands" are pretty harmless).

Good luck!

You can always try something like Dramamine or other over the counter motion sickness medications and just take it as a precaution.

There are trans-dermal patches your doctor can prescribe that work well.

I too get car sick but suprisingly not sea sick. I would cross the ocean on a boat any day! There are many motion sickness products that you can take that you can buy at any pharmacy, or you can go to your doctor befroe hand and express your concern. Motion Sickness, whether it is sea or car sick if a form of vertigo and inbalance in you inner ears thrown off by visualization of movement, because a boats movements are so much different than a cars, they affect different people differently, which is why some of us people who get car sick do not get sea sick and vice versa

the best way is to take either tablet avomine 30 min before journey or transdermal patch.Once u start getting it no drug is effective.
why take chance ???
