Mah tummeh is hurtin meh. What can I do to make it feel better?!


Question: I woke up at 6 am throwing up and feeling kinda feverish....and I don't want to take anymore Pepto cause my stomach is empty and I'm afraid it will make it worse.

Since i was throwing up, should I eat? I feel kinda hungry, but I don't want to aggravate the problem. I never know what i should do in instances like that.

Saltines and Sprite always work for me when I am sick and throwing up. Maybe some soup. Nothing that solid though. That makes it worse. Hope you get better!!!

drink lots of water and eat nothing, so if u do throw up it wont hurt as much!

Awwwwwww....I take a nice shot of NyQuil and sleep through all discomfort. I hate being sick!!

Seriously, eat in VERY small quantities. At least you'll have something in your stomach. And eat sparingly only when you feel like it.

Have some dry toast and take the ol' "plop, plop, fizz, fizz..."

its only worse if you don't. throwing up things (even if its just crackers and water) is more pleasurable than the dry heaves. more pleasurable? i think i meant less miserable.

:( Poor baby!! I see you posted this a while ago, so hopefully you are feeling better now....

If not, heres my advice. Eat dried toast (avoid butter if you can, after vomiting your stomach may not have enough of the enzymes it needs to break down the fat and it will make you more ill.) Or try a little tinned apple. Cups of packet soup are ok....just keep everything very plain. No fats or dairy products.

To try to settle your stomach, have a little lemon juice. When I say a little, I mean a teaspoon or two in a glass of water. Sip it slowly. It helps sort out the pH in you tummy and helps it feel better. It make make you burp a little. Don't make it too strong.

Ginger is also good for nausea. I'd eat a piece of toast prior to trying to eat the ginger though as it make burn your tummy at little if it's empty. Dried crystalised ginger (dried fruit isle of the supermarket) is best and it is sweet and yummy.
