I've got an Acute bronchitis, Please Health Help me.?!

Question: hi im a healty 21 year old guy and just got this Acute bronchitis just 2 days ago. I believed I caught it off my family member because i was quite fine until the first day it happened.

i've had heavy repeated coughs and so far that had a very hard time breathing and losing sleep.

I didn't want to take any Anti-biotics-medicine yet because its too early to be taking it (2 days only) and I've been drinking 10 x cups warm water a day.

Is there other advice that would help me recover fast. Lastly at a period how long would the recovery take?

Bronchitis is inflammation of the bronchial passages. While you may not want an antibiotic, you may end up with one. The bronchitis is probably a symptom of something else-like a respiratory infection.
You need to go see the MD. You will probably have an x-ray done and you could end up with any of the following...
antibiotics, cough meds, nasal steroids etc.

I get bronchitis several times a year. Mine is brought about by extreme changes in weather. When I tried to self diagnose myself in October, I was certain I had a respiratory infection. All the signs were there. BUT, when I went to the MD, the xray showed pneumonia.

So, take it from someone with CHRONIC bronchitis-go see your MD. Oh, and I do not smoke, I do not have asthma either.

the person that diagnoses himself has a fool for a patient.
it is never too soon to see a doctor.

You dont know for sure that it is acute bronchitis. Get it checked out, they will most likely give you antibiotics & something to help you sleep, but it should help. If you can't sleep, your body won't have the strength for a speedy recovery. You don't want to take any risks, especially when you are having trouble breathing! That's a scary symptom (a red flag for health professionals!). So go see your doctor. In the mean time, keep drinking lots of water, get lots of rest, get some vitamin C.
