What can happen if you dont get much sunlight during the day?!


Question: ok, so here is some backround on the situation. i have moved into the basement of the house. i do my schoolwork there. i eat there. i watch tv there. all with little... if any sunlight. the only light i get during the day is the one that plugs into the wall... and when i go upstairs to get a drink. or do the dishes. or take out the trash. or get the mail. that is the only sunlight i get... is this bad?

Sunlight has been found to have certain nutrients in it that are good for your skin. As you shouldn't over do the sun, you should try to get more than you currently are getting.

You name it, causes lack of vitamin D, vitamin D deficiency causes cancer. But first you will get anxiety and depression.

Vitamin D deficiency; your bones may soften.
Milk contains this, so does fish, so if you eat these products you should be fine :)

Also believe that if you don't get enough sunlight ( natural ) your skin is prone to acne.

If you prefer not to get the natural sunlight that is needed for your body then you should at least be taking a multi vitamin for your age/ sex.

If you're not getting 15-20 minutes of sunlight daily, your body cannot produce the vitamin D you need to get the calcium you ingest to work properly. There is a symbiotic relationship between many elements. Without proper calcium absorption, your bones and teeth can weaken, etc. A good multi-vitamin should help for times you're not getting all of the nutrients your body needs.
