Adderal medication for adhd?!

Question: I will be meeting with my son's doctor soon. Before then, I would like an idea of the effective doses for your child.
When he was 70lbs, the effective doses (able to function in school) was 20 mg. He is now about 115lbs and it is not as effective as before. Thanks

Sometimes the body starts tolerating a medicine, and it has to be increased or temporarily use a different one so that the original med is more effective again. The idea is to only use as much medication as will be effective for your son, without over-medicating. Even though weight has a lot to do with the effective dose, other factors are involved, too. The doctor has a book that states how much CAN be given for a given weight, but that's a guideline, and it might be that he can go with just a small increase and be fine for a while.
My daughter is only 55 pounds and takes the same as your son, so as you can see, it depends on the person.

That would be a question for the doctor.
