Children : 8-9 Hours (at least)
Adults : 6-7 Hours (at least)

This is the recommended amount of sleeps a person should get each night.

I fall asleep watching television, I set it to sleep mode, and I just go to sleep while it's on. If you plan to read a book right before going to bed, make sure that it's not for school, reading before sleep means that you forget most of what you have read when you finally do go to sleep. If you drink soda, try to kick that habit, anything cafinated is sure to keep you awake. Also, I like to keep my room clean, I feel more comfortable if I am going to sleep in a clean area rather than a messy one.

i do not know but, i got "0" last night..yawn

7-8 hours

it really depends on how old you are. Since you're only getting 6 hours of sleep, you sound like you're over 18, so your average amount of sleep should be 7-9 hours.

adults usually should get 8 hours of sleep at night. if it's less that that, they should take a nap during the day to balance themselves. you can find answers to your sleep questions from the sleep management consultants

I cannot feel fully awake in the morning unless I have had 8 hours sleep, if not, I will start feeling tired arround afternoon time and might doze of if I am doing something boring like studying.

PS. I'm 18

up to 8 hours

most need at least 8 hrs
depends on the person
some require more or less
however you must need more
try listening to soft music
dark room
or tylenol pm

everyone is different...if you are able to get up easily in the morning, and feel well-rested during the day, then you are getting enough sleep

if you need more, I only know the same old things they always say...avoid stimulants several hours before bed, keep your bedroom cool and dark, establish a routine, make sure your bed is comfortable for you....

I would not recommend tylenol pm or other sleep medications, unless it is only occasionally, because they can be very habit forming

Sleep is a tricky thing. You really need to find your niche. If you sleep six hours and wake up feeling energized and awake, than six hours is fine for you. I find that six to seven hours works for me. But some people require a lot more to truly feel rejuvenated. My live in boyfriend usually sleeps nine to ten hours to feel energized in the morning.

If you are only getting six hours and feel that you need more than that, there are a couple of tricks for putting yourself to sleep. One is having your bedroom at the correct temperature. If the room is too cold, you'll shiver and you wont sleep. If it is too hot, than you will spend to much time trying to rip the blankets off yourself while you're sleeping.

Another trick is to make sure that the room you are in is dark. Many people don't like absolute darkness or silence. If you like a little light and sound, don't use a tv. That can wake you up out of your REM sleep. Use a radio with soft music and a night light instead.

Use the last hour before you go to sleep for wind down time. Don't eat or watch tv, do something quiet, like read or complete a crossword. You want your mind to be quiet, so you are able to shut down and go to sleep.

Hope this helps!
