What is an alternative method of keeping awake besides having to drink coffee?!


Question: Sorry buddy but in regards to all the beliefs that anything at all will keep ya awake I must provide the facts.
In the event the body wants to sleep because it "needs" to sleep nothing and I repeat "NOTHING" will keep it awake.
Falling asleep at the wheel is a good example. Coffee, methamphetamines, cold air with the window down, loud music all the things oh and one of my favorite,... moving the drivers seat up close and so outright uncomfortable that it will keep ya awake',.lol hahaha .... never happen. Comfort means nothing to a body that need rejuvenation. A side note: Restaurant is a place to RESTORE.

Just keep Watching cartoon or movie .


Chew gum. Don't just put it in your mouth, make sure you are chewing it.

Apparently apples are better than coffee at waking you up in the morning. Especially if someone throws them at you.

get the sleep the night before.
drink something sugary besides coffee (soda, red bull, ect.)
eat a lot of candy and chocolate.

apples contain caffeine to help keep you awake too

Walk around, think of something funny, do something you enjoy doing, go to yahoo answers lol, get a gf/bf to spend the night lol

just keep yourself busy,if you sit or lie down you will get a strong desire to sleep

Engage in vigorous exercise! Do any sort of aerobic exercise. For most people, it kicks in the endorphins and makes you feel pepped.

Gin sing is a stimulant as well, available at most drug stores and health food stores.

Do something that stimulates your mind

Example:
Reading a book
Writing something
Watch TV
Listen to/ Play music
Use the computer

Its different for everyone, but it is a sure way to keep you awake if you find the right method.

And if you dont like the taste of coffee, try another caffeine alternative like An Energy drink, or Coke.

Watch your diet carefully, sometimes daytime sleepiness is a result of the foods you eat or don't eat. When your blood sugar fluctuates, you feel tired.
Exercise and diet should help you feel good throughout the day...Avoid excessive carbs and sugars throughout the day.
Sit in a cold room, or blow a fan on you for a burst of stimulation.
Also, ensure you indeed getting plenty of sleep...rule out any disorders that may happen while you sleep such as sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome...these can cause daytime sleepiness even you slept a full 6-10 hours, b/c although you sleep, you are not in a full rest full, sleep full state.

well there are alot of ways of keeping awake! Traditionally some people says,to keep awake put your legs in cold water in a bucket or basen or maybe anything so long as there is water in it and you will keep aake for as long as you want!

red bull, rock star, there are a number of drink that contain large amounts of caffeine.

Chewing Gums. Mints.

eat carbs but don't eat alot of suger b/c when it wears off it will be almost impopssible to stay awake

Put a basin of cold water on a towel spread under your chair. Take off your shoes and socks/stockings/tights. When you start to feel sleepy.....plunge your bare feet into the cold water and leave them there for 15 to 20 seconds. Remove your feet from the water and place them on the towel. Do not attempt to dry your feet.

This should waken you up like a jolt of electricity. If it doesn't, you are suffering from exhaustion. Forget trying to stay awake, you will only do yourself damage. Go to bed.

There is a pill form substitute for the caffeine derived from coffee called Awake. However taking too much or too often can cause serious heart related problems. Use with caution.
