I have a cold. Why can't I taste anything?!

Question: I've had a really bad cold for days now, and for some reason everything I eat and drink has no taste to me. It's horrible! And I can't smell anything. My nose is stuffy, but not to the point where I can't breath easily. What do I do? Is this normal?

It is most likely because your nose is plugged up. Your sense of taste is connected to your nose to if your nose.So if your nose is plugged you will not be able to taste anything.

your taste buds are off.

I happened to have a cold last week
sucksss :\

sinus infection..

we use are sense of smell to taste so when we have a cold are sense of smell is reduced hence the effect on taste, when your cold clears up your taste will reappear

ya its normal and becase ur sick duuhhh

that is a symptom of a cold

your taste will come back after teh cold is gone

Because although we often think we taste something we actually smell it, and as your nose is blocked, well answer it yourself

Must be because you are in the politics section.

That is normal. When you don't have a cold and you plug your nose while eating, you can't taste either. When your stuffed up, your nasal passage gets blocked preventing your taste buds from tasting - very normal. Try taking some Sudafed or other decongestants. That's why people with colds also sound nasal because their noses are stuffed so it sounds like they're talking with their noses plugged shut.

Its normal! Its a cold and you should see the doctor for symptons of something else. Oh and you should also try niquil or go to cvs abd check out what they got.

lol its cuz ur nose is plugged

Your sense of taste is closely related to your sense of smell.
Also the meds you take for a cold, make you lose you sense of taste.
Try a nose spray and you will breath free and clear in about 10 seconds.
