My feet are freezing?!

Question: My feet and hands are always far colder than the rest of my body. My arms and legs and body can be warm, but my hands and feet can feel like they're being dipped in ice at the same time. Even wearing socks and slippers doesn't help. Why is this? And what can I do about it?

It's because when it gets cold, the blood in your hands and feet go to the centralized parts of your body to keep vital organs warm. Let's just say that if you were caught in the extreme cold, your body would do that to a higher degree and you would develop frost bite on your extremities.

You could possibly have a circulation problem known as Peripheral Vascular Disease. If it's really bothering you, you should get to the doctor.

you have poor circulation, talk to your doctor to see what you can do about it.

i have the same thing, i think there not enough blood run throug those parts

There is a medical condition which causes this but I can't remember the name of it. You should see your' doctor as soon as possible so you can receive treatment for it. I know how you feel, I have very bad circulation so suffer petty much the same. Good luck, hope this gets sorted soon.

a lot of body heat is lost at your head, feet, and hands. Usually what I do is just wrap myself in a blanket.

stick them between your legs
(dont get me wrong now)
youll feel warmer

o.k.

This is due to bad circulation. Try drinking lots of water and not getting too much salt and walking for at least half an hour per day. Circulation is often bad when you're underweight so it may be worth talking to your doctor and figuring out what you can do about it. X

So are mine. BTW, I am diabetic. You should probably be tested for it. If you are, an early diagnosis will slow the progress and you will be able to function a lot longer. My diabetes was not diagnosed until I had the disease for at least five years. Anyway that is what my Dr. said. I had circulation problems and neuropathy symptoms before I was diagnosed. I was diagnosed about 5 years ago and now my feet and hands are numb as are my legs about half way up the calf. This is nothing to fool around with and a simple blood test called an "A1C" test will give you a head start or peace of mind. Either is a good thing.

I have this problem also. I went to a neurologist because my feet would get really numb sometimes in the winter. My right was worse than my left. The neurologist said I had a mild neuropathy(sp?) in my right foot. She suggested things such as wearing warmer socks. Even wearing socks to bed. For hands maybe get some of those little 99 cents stretchy gloves and cut the fingers off. Sometimes I warm up by taking a long hot shower. I find that working on the computer and sitting around doing nothing just makes me colder. Working out seems to improve circulation for me also. It seems to me women are more plauged with this problem than men for some reason.
