Why Do I Have Cracks In My Tongue...?!

Question: They aren't painful, I don't drink or smoke, I eat reasonably healthily. I thought it was because I didn't drink enough water, but I'm not dehydrated either. Is this normal because I've had them ever since I can remember?

If it doesn't hurt, then maybe it is not worrying. I think it can be a sign of stress and not getting sufficient vitamin Bs. If you know for sure that you're not drinking enough water, try to drink more. Also mention this to your doctor when you next visit him/her and see what he/she thinks.

knowbody knows

could be, everybody's tongue is different. If your mouth isn't dry I wouldn't worry about it

My tongue dries up a lot, because I'm diabetic.

if you watch you are what you eat on bbc then jillian would say you have some sort of liver problem or something.

i get this too.

when i eat anything sour. like candy or lemons or pineapple.

next time when eating food like this, drink water in between bites.

Ouch. When you say cracks are they bleeding/sore? See a doctor

its dry or you look up too close and reading to much into it

My nephew had cracks in his tongue when he was a toddler, but the went away by the time he was in school. My friend's 7-year-old son has those cracks, too. They call it a geographic tongue.

Here's a link.

It also could be "fissured tongue" which they touch on in that article, but here's another link.

well it might be a birth defect or simply because you ate something with a lot of acids. I know a friend how had that and it was because he had to many vinegar chips. it also can happen with sour skittles I know it sounds weird but its the truth. ;).

you need to eat more vegetables. It may because you lack of certain vitamin.

do u think ur nose working properly at breating??if u use only mouth for it may makes ur mouth dry...

possibly a poor diet

Your taste buds, perhaps?
