I need a 2ND opinion?!

Question: i have a 7yr old child who has many medical needs and disabilites, she seems to be having some sort of seizures, she has had many EEGs done but they all come back normal. recently she had one and was rushed to the local emergency department and they said it looked like a partial seizure. the neurologist was'nt too sure said it could be pain related. my childs consultant said they was not too sure. i am thinking of getting a second opion but i do not know how to get on. can any advice me where to start. thank you all in advance for your comments.

Just tell your consultant that you value his/her opinion, but you would rather a second opinion - it is up to them then to find you someone else.

I can see where they're coming from though, where they say that it could be pain related.

I wish you the best of luck - it's your childs' health in the balalnce here so demand the best, I know I would :D

If ur in the Uk.. try the social work dept & the learning disability team.
Sometimes its not easy getting a second opinion without looking like an overbearing paranoid parent.. but u have to bang on desks.. loudly.
In my experience with families with children with disabilities... the louder u bang.. the more u get! Which does kind of leave those who are meek to lose out.. however, if your child is in pain.... bang as loud as u can.
Demand a second opinion... seek the support of the school & EVERY professional you have links with.
You will be avoided at every turn.. u will have calls ignored, but u are fighting for the rights of your child.. & she deserves it!
Good Luck

my son has seizures they were brought on by high temperature or if he was getting a child illness like measles or sore throat but thankfully they stopped at seven as the doctor said they might hes 38 now and never had any more all his test came back normal as we change every seven years hope every thing goes well
