Question: i found out i have Fundic Gland Polyps in my stomach. can anyone tell me more info on these polyps and should they be removed? and can they cause anemia?

First and foremost they should be tested and you should have them tested on a scheduled basis, say about every 1-3 years. The cause of them is unknown but they can run in families. The polyps actually affect the Fundus part of the stomach - hence the name. Seeing as the polyps can be multiple, sometimes into the hundreds or even thousands, it is not feasible to remove them. However, regular biopsies can determine if they're turning into anything nasty. Symptoms may include bleeding from the rectum, change in bowel habits, abdominal pain, low blood counts (anemia) or unexplained weight loss.
