Can someone explain this whole scene?!

Question: I'm trying to think of this but I can't really say anything.

Don't be all upset and mad with me, I need this info for a book to make sure my friend isn't blowing smoke up my @$$.

What happens at a hospital when a person's heart stops beating? What kinds of codes do doctors and nurses yell so they know what they need to bring the person back? What are the sounds in the hospital room? That kinda thing.

This is called research. Authors do their own.

Get yourself to an ER. Ask to speak to any of the doctors on duty when they are not with a patient. Be prepared to wait. Have a list of specific questions ready, and a tape recorder or other means of recording so they don't have to wait for you to write things down.

If you can't do that, at least watch medical shows on any of the channels that films doctors and nurses at work. You can pick up much of what you'll need, but not all. (Skip shows with a script. They make mistakes and take dramatic license.)

Eat a really bad diet for several years, take up smoking then sit back and wait for the heart attack. At the hospital (if you make it) all will be revealed.
