Is this a common side effect from drugs?!

Question: i noticed that when i take my sleep meds i get really bad stomach aches, and now i shudder when i think about it. i had the same problem with pain killers 2 years ago. now i dont take any pills at all.

my question is, are stomach aches a common side efect among many or most drugs (including illegal), do you get a bad stomach ache after droping a hit of acid or taking mescaline?

i guess this question would be aimed more at psychadelics, seeing as ive only done marijuanna.

Most of the anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen, aspirin, naproxin) can cause severe stomach pain. Most ulcers not caused by bacteria are caused by anti-inflammatory drugs! It has something to do with prostiglandin, if you want to learn more. If you can (ask your pharmacist if you're taking other meds), take a proton pump inhibitor like Prilosec with them to help prevent both pain and damage.

I don't know about your sleep meds, but specific drugs cause specific side effects, and you should ask your doc what to do about the problem. Another pill might help you sleep without stomach pain.

As to recreational drugs, I think that stomach pain can occur with cocaine or speed, though I don't know if it's caused by the drug itself, or the fact that people don't eat while using them.

In my youth I did a number of different psychedelics, and noticed no stomach problems. (The social problems are a whole different kettle of fish, however!)

no you dont get a stomach ache from taking a hit of acid but mescaline you might same as shrooms and others you EAT but maybe you should try eating some food when you take pills or drugs but not too much food just some crackers or bread

Take sleep meds with some crackers...you shouldn't get stomach cramps. Pain killers are well known for causing cramps. I don't know what specific sleep meds you were prescribed, but most meds including aspirin include stomach pain as a side effect.

No...not normal.

your tummy might not react well to pills. when you need to take pills try taking them with food.
