I've got that tingle right now and its a big one. you know its gonna b bad when your teeth rub it and you nearly pass out with the pain!

i get them after a cold too. Some people are just more likely to get them. For example if you have sensitive skin.

Herpes virus, something triggers it off in your system and if you get them there is nothing really you can do about it. Sun can activate the virus in some cases.

The best thing for Cold Sores is an ice cube. As SOON as the tingling starts, wrap an ice cube in a hanky and hold it on area till melted and repeat for 3 ice cubes. leave for a few hours and do again. It freezes then confuses the nerves that trigger the outbreak. Everyone I have told this to, now swears by it.

Try these for free - they have been advertised on tv lately...

different things for different people offset them. For me if i wear a certain type of lipstick, or if i use colgate toothpast i get a cold sore. Maybe it's the type of medicine that you have been using that's triggering a reaction? When i get them, i feel what works best is blistex the medicated stuff. as soon as i feel it's coming on a apply it and keep applying it ( don't let it dry ) do it for about 3 days and it's gone.

ive never had one

u have herpes ha ha

Herpes infection. That's another name for what you are having, and they have no cure. They show up whenever your immunity drops. You'll have to live with them. Be very careful with the Zovirax! Like many drug it has nasty side effects and , besides, you cannot use it forever.

Some people are just more sensitive to getting them. Increase your intake of vitamin C and zinc, this should help. And yes, zovirax is brilliant.

I am suffering from particularly annoying cold sore in the middle of my upper lip, and it looks exactly like a Hitler moustache. Naturally my husband being the joker than he is is having a great laugh with this, addressing me in German, doing the Nazi salute, and clicking his heels. It's actually hilarious, but it is getting a tad old .... I'll be glad when this cold sore goes. I'm getting tired of marching music being played.

By the way, he's not German!

Apparently lysine helps to prevent them. You can get it in health food shops as a food supplement.

You have the virus, from which you will never be free. However, it seems it only comes to life when you're at a low state and this is why you get them when you have a cold. Your immune system is low. Try taking Zinc tablets (not expensive from the pharmacy.) And take a course of multi vitamins too to boost your immunity. We're all ready for a bit of sunshine to boost our systems now, aren't we.
