Chicken pox questions??!

Question: Ok, I have a mild case of the chicken pox. Less than a dozen blisters on my arms, back, and scalp. It is the second time I have gotten the chicken pox. Should I go to school? Is it still contagous? At first I wasnt sure if it was chicken pox, but thinking back it makes sense. I had a few "pimple things" on my head that started bleeding, and I had a very bad headache on Friday. I feel neuseous right now. So should I stay home? And for how long? I feel sick, but not so sick that I cant go to school. However, I got it from someone at school so I wouldnt want to spread it to my friends and other people. Help!

Can you go to school?
Don't go to school. If you have chicken pox you need to have 2 weeks off school. You or your child can go back to work, school, or daycare when all blisters have crusted over. This is usually about 10 days after the first symptoms start.

When is chicken pox contagious?
Chickenpox is contagious, meaning that someone who has it can easily spread it to someone else. Someone who has chickenpox is most contagious during the first 2 to 5 days that he or she is sick. That's usually about 1 to 2 days before the rash shows up. So you could be spreading around chickenpox without even knowing it!

A person who has chickenpox can pass it to someone else by coughing or sneezing. When he or she coughs, sneezes, laughs, and even talks, tiny drops come out of the mouth and nose. These drops are full of the chickenpox virus. It's easy for someone else to breathe in these drops or get them on his or her hands. Before you know it, the chickenpox virus has infected someone new.

Can you get chicken pox twice?
No. It can come back as shingles.

After infection, the virus stays in the body for life. Although people cannot get chickenpox twice, the same virus causes shingles. A person with shingles can spread the virus to an adult or child who has not had chickenpox, and that person can develop chickenpox.

Go to the doctor before you judge what it is. You can't get chicken pox twice. Once you do, you'll never have them again. But if you've had them before, and you think that you have something like it, GO TO THE DOCTOR. It could be serious.

How sure are you that you have chicken pox? People only get them once. With the chicken pox, you have red dots, not blisters. Don't go to school, but call your doctor's nurse. Tell her exactly what's going on. Check your temperature. The nurse will guide you. Good luck, hon. :)

you can get it twice my bro had it twice

You can get chicken pox twice if you didn't get them too badly the first time. But, do go to a doctor, there might be a chance you'd get them over and over again, and you'd need the vaccine.

You do not want them when your older, that's when they become shingles, and they hurt, extremely bad!

You cannot go to school if in fact you have chicken pox they are contagious until your fever has broken and the pox have dried up. Usually about a week. But because you have had them twice you should have your mom set up a drs appt and go into the dr and have them make sure that it is in fact chicken pox you have.

I wouldn't go to school I would go to the doctor and then have an oatmeal bath

yes you can get it twice, but it is a diffrernet form and if I were you I would stay home and rest, it is VIRUS and cannot be cured! you need to let your body develope its immunity to it with lots of rest and vities or good food! good luck as yoyu do not want to get it worse, take it easy and take a vacation from friends and family for a few days! good luck!
