How much Ibuprofen can I take (mg)?!
Question: I have really really bad cramps and my doctor suggested Ibuprofen, he gave me a prescription for some, theyre 800mg tablets...
I took one its not helping when can I take another? What is the most amount of mg you can take at once?

800 mg is the limit. Anything more than that is very unsafe, And you need to wait 6 hours before taking them again.
This pain reliever isn't working for you. My daughter was in the same position as you...800 mg, and still in severe pain. The doctor suggested I try a different pain reliever..because they all work differently on different people. Go to the store and try Aleve (naproxen sodium). 2 tablets often work for 12 hours.
I actulally ended up putting my daughter on ortho-low oral contraceptives. Now she takes 400 mg. of Ibuprofin, and doesn't even need a second dose.

I wouldn't take more than 800mg at a time. I think you should call the pharmacist and ask him what to do.
don't take more than 2000 mg in 24 hours
How often did your Dr recomend.This is a high dosage and care has to be taken as to much can lead to liver and other internal organs damage.Do you know the reason for your cramping ?. If you drink or smoke a lot maybe try to cut down.You don't say what the cause is of the cramping.Maybe you should see your Dr again and have some tests done to find the cause.
