It is the culture in Scandinavian countries, where saunas originated for men, women and even children to sauna together. Where you may feel saunas are designed to be used with the same sex, others will think it's natural and normal to use them with the opposite sex also.
It must me noted that some people would use a mixed sauna because they find it exciting to be around the opposite sex in that kind of environment with little clothes.
