I'm not a nurse, but I'm a CNA, & I applaud you for wnting to recognize this worker. I suggest you find out the administrator of the hospital, the Director of Nursing, & the supervisor for the area where the person works (ER, Xray, etc). Just tell it in everyday words, like you are talking to a good friend. You won't be graded on the letter, but I can tell you from experience that it will be appreciated by all concerned. Lots of times health care workers kind of get overlooked, in favor of doctors, & any recognition is welcome. Thanks for being such a good & caring daughter!!

Direct your letter to the hospital administrator and the Director of Nursing. Just speak from your heart.

mail the letter to the hospital and direct it to the D.O. N. director of nursing. Praise and appreciation for a job well done is seldom received. A DON will be sure the person working under her reads your letter. Thank you for taking good care of my mom is all you need to say.

Taking the time to write a letter recognizing the special nurse is a lovely thing to do. I agree, a letter to the hospital administrator but also a copy to the Manager of the particular unit/floor that this nurse works on, will ensure your letter makes it's way to the nurse's supervisor and to the nurse. You will make this nurse's day, week and year!

Everyone else had good advice too but I would also send it to the Nurse Manager of that unit - that way the nurse will hear about it.
