How long can a lap band stay on?!
Question: I've never been able to find anything out about how long a lap band can stay in your body. I realize it's surgery to remove it so can it stay permanently in your body? What about the port (the tube connected to it that comes to the surface of your skin to fill it), I thought those were only a short-term thing?

I don't think the band is supposed to be removed. It can be, but that would most likely lead to weight gain. The port should heal over and not be uncomfortable. After the incisions are healed, you shouldn't have any restrictions based on the port.
I don't know how long you can keep it on but I know a man who has his for 2 years now. Whatever you choose to do I wish you all the luck. As for Money, she is total ***** and it is very unfortunate a person like that only responsed to your question to collect 2 points.
