Does ecstasy go off?!

Question: My friend has just moved house and he found some pills down the side of his bed that hes knows are at least 18 months old...they are in a baggie. Does the chemical go off, doe it have a best before date, or become more harmful if left for long periods? I know these things are made and usually not sold for 6 - 12 months or more but will this extra time cause problems? I'm worried about him because he says he's going to take them.

They are his ? He knows what they are ? Only about 30% of ecstasy pills are actually the real thing.
All drugs lose their efficacy over time, so the bits in them that make you high wont be as strong, and neither will the toxins (like dog worming pills, PCP, GHB, LSD, DXM or Ketamine) that they mix in when they run out of product, but there should still be enough kick for a high, or poison to kill you. Who knows what those russian crims in their drug labs have cooked up this time ?

Like you said, with no known manufacture date they could be 6 years old. As could any pill that he ever took regardless of how long he had it for.

I would hope he is not so foolish as to take pills that he knows so little about.
