Chantix Side Effects?!

Question: I am on week 2 of the Chantix (haven't smoked in 4 days!) but I don't know that I can continue this medication. I am fine when I wake up but 10 minutes after I take the pill - I am nauseous for hours and hours! It like morning sickness and I know I ain't pregnant :) I am also having a hard time sleeping... I toss and turn all night long and can NOT get out of bed in the morning. I have had to call in sick for the last 2 days. I just can't do this.

Anyone else out there had similar experiences? Any suggestions?

Thanks to all who answer

I'm also taking Chantix (week 10) and I know what you're talking about. When I first started taking it I had some weird dreams/uneasy sleep and I also get some nausea after taking the pill, but only for maybe half an hour or so.

I would definitely make sure you eat a full meal before taking the pill and drink a full glass of water with it as well. Some of the symptoms you are experiencing can also be attributed to nicotine withdrawal. So my advice is to stick with it as these things should fade away in time.

Good luck, I know its tough, but I'm proof its possible. Haven't smoked in 2 and half months and have 2 more weeks of Chantix to go.

I have not started taking it yet but my neighbor took it and she said that you HAD to eat when taking it. Not just 2-3 cracker either. Also I would reccommend taking Benadryl or Tylenol PM at bedtime if it is keeping you awake.
