Ear always blocked?!

Question: My ears are blocked. Its severe, I've tried EVERYTHING: opening my jaw, yawning, Afrin, pulling on my ear, cleaning the wax out everyday.. nothing! I was at my allergist and he didn't see anything when he looked in my ear. Its really annoying because I hear my voice louder than usual and I don't know how loud I'm talking. For some reason, its only happening at school. It happens a little at home, but it unclogs when I come home and throughout the weekend. I am scared to yawn, sneeze, or blow my nose whenever it is unblocked. This happens every year, around fall to spring.. I'm fed up with it!

Have you ever tried candleing your ears. I go to my local Health store and they have hollow candles you put in your ear and light up. The heat creates a vacuum. You only burn them about halfway down so you don't burn yourself. Have someone there with you to help. Try it.

Well if your allergist couldn't give you an answer what seems to make you think that people on yahoo answers with no medical background will be able to tell you something?? Apparently you are just going to have to deal with it...I mean if it happens every year and no one has been able to give you an answer about it yet...That would be my guess.

hmm sounds like you need to see your normal GP and get a referral to a ENT (ear nose and throat) specialist.
Could be anything from blocked sinuses to gunk in your eardrum, which could be as easily fixed by them professionaly washing your ear drum out or putting in a grommit to open the tubes etc.
whatever you do ..DONT use cotton buds in your ear to clean it cus all they do is push the wax etc further in your ear drum causing more damage.
Speaking from 30 years experience with ear problems, get it checked out as soon as you can, its better to be safe than sorry!

My doctor said I had pressure in my ear drums and to try 'pop' them several times a day, like how you would on a plane, hold your nose and breathe out through your nose. Anyway that didn't do anything! I got some spray stuff that seems to help a bit, they should have in your pharmacy it's called earcleanse or something, if not they'll have something similar, may be worth a go.
Oh and apparently using cotton buds just pushes wax further into your ear, making it worse. That's why a spray is better, has helped me.

I did suffer from that when I was in school. I'll advise you to go and see a doctor. The doctor will give you a kind of lubricant to be put inside your ears and antibiotics.

If still, after few weeks , u still suffer from that, you might want to see a speacialist in EnT (Ear and throat), based in my experience, the doctor will use some sort of an optical vacume that can go in easily inside your ears to suck out whatever is that thing that blocks your ears.

I'll advise you to go see doctor ASAP, as it will cause internal irritation and infection. That's Y ur ears are hurting so much.

The allergist didn't see anything because there's nothing in your ear. It's happening because the pressure behind your ear drum isn't equalizing with the air on the outside. Considering that it's recurrent and seasonal.. it could be a structural problem or allergies, or both. An ENT takes care of allergies too. You should definitely make an appointment.
