Put on some relaxing music, like enya or enigma, turn off all lights, but maybe a dim nightlight or in my case white xmas lights. Take deep, slow breaths, and relaxxxxxxx...

If you cant sleep once youve been laying a while, you should get out of bed...you want to train your body that bed is for peace, and sleeping(mostly;), So if you cant sleep, get up, do some yoga, or read a book. Try again in 30 minutes or so.

drink warm milk or watch some television

One of the best ways is to work out before bed.

Here's a list of ways:

I can relate. As you can see at this hour there must be lots of us insomniacs. Try to drink a glass of milk and see if that helps. And......Go to bed! night night!

I'm not sure why but somehow it works and I am asleep before I know it

everyone has a hormone secreted by the body called melatonin and it's purpose is to calm us down and get us ready for sleep. bright lights late at night and unnecessary excitement during evening hours interrupts this hormone and so..taking some time at night to do something relaxing like reading and dimming the lights and having a warm glass of milk ,a comfortable temperature of between 60 and 70 degrees farenheit and avoiding caffeine, and exercise late at night helps also and caffeine can be found in hidden places like chocolate, teas etc. also waking up and going to bed at the same time each day sets ur internal body clock and helps in falling asleep will be much easier.try all of these suggestions and Good luck
