Why is the thumb a "thumb" and not a "finger"?!
Question: Because "thumbing thru" sounds bettter than "fingering thru".
Naw,nt really. I think it's because the characteristics of a thumb are different than those of a finger, i.e. the fact it's bent in & can actually pick things up.
