Protein in urine?!

Question: How can you tell if you have protein in your urine? Is it only by tests from the doc or can you see it?
Just curious. Thanks.

Microscopic protein is through lab testing (usually through dip stick or chemical testing). IF you had massive protein loss as in nephrotic syndrome you urine may look different (frothy) but you wouldn't see "chunks" of proteins.

yes under a microscope , possible to see

you might be able to find a ketone dipstick test at a drugstore, but i wouldnt trust that, better to go to the doctor and pee in a cup for them... more accurate that way.
