For as long as the alcohol is in your body. It's the alcohol interacting with the med, not the other way around if that makes sense. I don't recommend drinking more than one maybe two drinks on it...it won't go away with time.

Alcohol does not mix with any medication. Wellbutrin can cause seizures in people who drink a lot of alcohol and then suddenly quit drinking when they start using the medication.
If you drink regularly and take Wellbutrin, do not try to stop cold turkey. It can lead to seizures. I watched my partner have them.
It usually last a day or so for me. I used to be a raging alcoholic. After awhile, my body felt as if it tolerated the combo better.
Bottom line---the two mixed together multiply the effects of the alcohol, and lessen the effects of the wellbutrin. If you drink more than one or two with dinner on a regular basis, it will drastically cut back the effectiveness of the wellbutrin.
