If "natural death" means death by disease or old age, does that mean t!

Question: ...are all going to die because of a disease, or unnatural cause (killing, accident, etc.)?

I'm assuming that an "old age" causes wear/damage of the human body, which then leads to "diseases." So, for me an "old age" and a "disease" are kind of the same.

Here's the original question again:

Are we all going to die because of a disease, or unnatural cause (killing, accident, etc.)?

Recent theories about how old age effects life span actually point to the wearing down of telomeres in DNA. Whenever your DNA replicates itself it loses a little bit of its length. Telomeres are long strands of nucleotides at the ends of DNA which don't code for any protein or anything; they just exist so that you don't have to experience the effects of aging until you're old. After a while the DNA is worn down so much that eventually essential genes are being broken off, which prevents your body from functioning. For a while your body can take it, but once you're old enough there is not enough DNA left to be able to support your organs and you die. This is why people die when they are old. Yes; we will die because of old age, disease, or an unnatural cause.

I believe so. Unless nanotechnology advances far faster than expected.

Yes..

We all die for one reason or another.
We all die in different ways.

I think the real question you are asking is this: Is it possible to live hundreds of years, leading to a statistically inevitable unnatural death? Ray Kurzweil and Dr. Aubrey de Grey would argue it is not only possible but these ultra long-lived people are with us today. I have reason to believe these two visionaries are correct in their seeminglingly outrageous claim.
