Well i was supposed to get my shot this year?!

Question: i was suppose to get my shot for going into middle school. ( for chicken pox) and i haven't got it cause they ran out of the medicine thing. Sooooo since i haven't got it will there be a chance that i could get it, since i don't have the shot? I don't know anyone who has it though, but could i still get it.

Not unless you are exposed to someone with it. That likelihood is diminished if most everyone else in your school has been vaccinated for it. If they can't get it they won't be exposing you to it.

are u like a cat or something

I wouldn't worry about chicken pox. It is rare now because so many people are vaccinated.

What's the question?

If you haven't gotten the shot, then you're still susceptible to getting it.

I've never heard of a mandatory shot for going into school though.... I guess thats because I got the chicken pox when I was like 5 and therefore will never get it again.

There's a shot for chicken pox? That's a new one on me. I don't know about the shot, but when you haven't had chicken pox or had a mild case as a child, you can still get them as an adult.

they give chicken pox shots now? i think thats bad...youre supposed to get it once when youre young because if you get it later in life it can be dangerous but.....if everyone else got the shot you probably wont get infected

I got the shot and STILL got the Chicken Pox! Yes, you can get it, but only if you come into contact with someone who currently has the chicken pox. If you aren't inoculated, the severity of the chicken pox will likely be much worse. Since I was inoculated, I got an extremely mild form of the chicken pox that lasted less than a week. I would still find a place that can give you the shot, to protect you and your classmates.

heres the thing... i'm 20 years old and i still didnt get the chicken pox but if it will attack me now it could kill me! my immune system kept me sick-free for two years. so if you have an immune system like me, then you are fine but i still would recomend getting one. remember the older you get, the more harmful chicken pox gets.

I would avoid any vaccine like the plague. They're filled with horrible chemicals that actually do more harm than good.
