Why is electric shock harmful.?!
Question: Because it can disrupt the electrical currents (made by your body) that cause your heart to beat the way it is supposed to-- electrical current can cause the heart to stop (because the natural electrical current is knocked out) OR it can cause your heart to be confused and go into what they call ventricular fibrillation (which means that instead of the heart beating, it causes the heart to quiver instead, which is as bad as not beating)
Electrical current can also cause seizures or brain death depending on how much the electrical current is--
If the electrical current is high, it can fry internal organs -- it also has an entrance (where the shock originally occured) and then as the electricity courses through the body, there is an "exit" wound-- which can be very devastating, depending on the strength of the shock -- not to mention all the damage it does in between

Well, when you receive a shock, your molecules get excited and tend to move. This is what is called voltage. It is due to this that some people are thrown back when they get a shock. More over, in case of severe shocks, your cells get fried. The physical jerking pain is due to movement of molecules. The ill effects have already been explained.
