If modern day domestic cleaners are dangerous for health.....?!
Question: have I already endangered my 13 week old babyis health by using them? If the chemicals in things such as dettol and flash cause cancer and breathing probs, how do I get rid of the chemicals that will no doubt be all over my house considering I have always used them? Do the chemicals stay in the carpets etc for ever?

If you look at the content of everything you use and the E numbers in most processed food, you would be scared to death. The chemicals in things like dettol won't stay in your house long, otherwise you wouldn't need to keep using them would you, it would be a once off cleaning job. These things that come up in the news are mainly to stop people being able to sue these companies if anyone tries to say their product caused a certain illness, they can then say the public were warned. Even medication you take on prescription can make you seriously ill. i already have breathing problems due to COPD and some of the medication the doctor gave me for it, says in the leaflet that it can cause severe breathing difficulties, how odd is that, i take medication for migraine, which on the leaflet says can cause headaches and breathing difficulties, again prescribed by my doctor.
Just keep your home clean and use dettol if you wish,, yes it kills germs, but there can be more dangerous germs there if you don't use it can't there, they don't tell you that do they. So yes some things can cause problems in some people, but not everyone, the risk of getting a disease from an unclean surface far outweighs the risk of a breathing difficulty through using a well known cleaning product that has been around for years.
