How do I insert my boyfried a suppository?!
Question: he has got a flu and runs a high fever 39.3Celcius... we tried tablets, but as he is really sick, he had to vomit. Now these suppositories are our last hope, but I've never given one to somebody else and I would like to help him and do it for him as quick as possible. I want to avoid him having trouble with it and I think it's more easy for a second person to do it.
In which position should I bring him? How far should I insert it? The advice on the package isn't very useful... Please help us!

oh... I really do feel sorry for you two... ok he should lie on his back with his knees pulled towards his chest. Now he can't tense up the rectal muscles anymore and consequently it won't hurt. Pull his pants down a bit and unwrap the suppository. Then look for his "opening" and insert the suppository carefully but quickly. You should put the finger tip in a little bit aswell, until you feel the suppository "disappearing". Otherwise it might come out again. Then he is supposed to lie down on his back in order to make his "hole" close. Good luck!
Just stick it up the hole...i think for the insert it just stick it in till you cannot see it anymore

have him lay on his side.....make sure the suppository and ur finger are lubed up, use ur pointer finger and insert it till ur pointer finger has gone all the way up......

Vaseline coated and very gently, well gently if he is being nice to you and less so if he is being horrible! lol
Just insert until it is out of sight, the body will do the rest

You would insert it to about the length of the first knuckle on your index finger. You may need to hold his bottom shut for a minute or two so it doesn't come out. It will begin to melt at body temperature, faster with fever.

Why are you giving him a suppository for his fever? Why are they his last hope? Are you trying to bring his temperature down, or are you trying to relieve his constipation? If you want to bring down his fever, give him some paracetamol. If his symptoms get any worse, take him to a doctor.
Sad to say this isn't pleasant! I have been given a few during sick time growing up...but they work fast! It sounds crazy but the best way is to have him hike his hind end in the air and then you can spred and insert it. You want to get it up in there fairly decent or it will come back out with the natural muscle contraction do to the odd feeling to the person. It will make him feel as if he has to go to the bathroom so don't let him! It should dissolve fairly quickly and will calm his sick stomach pretty quick if he has one with the flu.
Get him on his back with knees raised and push it up his bottom and tell him to breathe in. I hope this helps.
Personally I would be concerned about the temperature and take him to a doctor as it is very high. Otherwise get him to lie on his side with his knees drawn up towards his tummy, use some lubricant and just insert it as high as your finger will go.
