That is just more examples of people trying to ban the rights of a certain group and I am against it. Some people are overweight due to thyroid problems or they arthritis and cannot work out etc. I am not overweight (but I have an aunt and uncle who are) and I was so angry about this. If my family goes out to eat then they can't go with us?
You are banning the restauranter from taking their money? Won't that hurt the economy?
I also think those with eating disorders eat little when eating out and gorge at home How will help them? We cannot ban a certain group of people from doing something like this. It is beyond belief! We are making them second class citizens and no one in America should be made this way.
The person who propsed that bill should be voted out of office and if he does not get the bill passed (or even if he does) he probably will be the next time he is up for election. What is next? Banning Jews, Christians, Muslims? Maybe people only one arm should not be allowed to eat out as it is hard for them to eat? Maybe people who can't speak English should not be allowed to eat out since you can't talk to the waiter? Maybe ban all people with children from entering because children scream and make a fuss? Oh and we don't want anyone in wheelchairs either because they sometimes block the isle.Oh and you can't be on welfare and eat because you should be out looking for a job. I mean, where does it end? If you have money and you want to eat out and the restaurant will serve you (some people get kicked out of restraunts for behavior and it is up the owner who he lets in, in actuality) then nothing should stand in your way.
It is an awful idea and I think the country should rise up agains this idea. Those who do not defend the rights of others cannot ask for others to defend them. I am Jewish so for me, this is a reminder of who things were in WW2. Jews were forbidden from going into restaurants, buses, holding jobs. It all grew and ballooned. Is this just the beginning of discrimination for these people?

My problem is that the government seems to want to take away our personal freedoms...and act as a "parent". if people want to be fat, that's their right (no offense). Same with abortion. I'm against it. But it's THEIR right. I don't need the government to be my parents, thanks.

wow, i find it funny that anyone would even cosider that. if worst came to worst they would make their non obese friend go into the resturant for them.
That is mean and discrimination! People who agree with that are heartless! It is the resturants fault partly for making them overweight. You would think they would want food-addicted people to eat there.

I do not think it will ever fly. If it came to the Supreme Court, it would probably be ruled unconstitutional. Discrimination at it's finest-Years ago, blacks could not eat in a resturant for whites. Now Fat people will have to go around back? Terrible!

Where did you hear that from and where is this going to be taking place? I understand banning smoking from restaurants because of health reasons........ but this is just plain stupid!!!

I am not fat, and I don't eat much but I am against this totally without any discussion.
Restaurant owners usually take into account people who eat double or triple ordinary people eat and pice is added to our bills.
By the way I know few friens who are so thin but you would never believe your eyes when you see them eating.
I see it as another symptom of our "babysitter" society...now a days one need not take responsibility for oneself...not your fault your fat is the fault of the food industry...not your fault you shot and killed someone is the gun makers fault...before long we will not have to take responsibilty for anything we do as it will be all regulated in order to save us from ourselves.

this is so silly. How can somebody classify a person as fat anyway? to be clinically classified as fat they need to work out their BMI are they gonna have measuring tape and a weighing scales at all the restaurants?

I would sue the heck out of anyone who told me that I couldn't eat at a restaurant because of my physical appearance, that's a violation of my civil rights!!
I was just about to ask if the restaurants were gonna weigh people before they went in but someone else already asked that. My next comment would be what do they consider obese? Are they gonna BMI everybody? Really, someone is sitting around extrememly bored and created stupid laws.
This is a true story just look it up on CNN. But the reason for this they thought obese people cost our health care rate to be high. But other story show this to be false. Obese people do not live as long and are cheaper on the economy.
That's crazy...the should ban the restaurants from selling JUNK and UNHEALTHY food.
