Has anyone taken or known anyone that has taken Wellbutrim..which is an anti-dep!
Question: I was taking Zoloft, but it really wasn't helping me, so my doctor perscribed me Wellbutrim.. I am already real skeptical about taking medication, but I have pretty bad anxiety.. So please if you know anything about this medication and about the side effects etc.. please let me know. Thank You!!

Wellbutrin is a good antidepressant. It has similar side effects as Zoloft. Sometimes someone will need to try several meds before finding the one that works. It is often effective when others aren't.
Sometimes a MD will give a cocktail of meds because they work better together than alone.

I was taking Zoloft and hated it...had wierd thoughts...
Im taking WEllbutrin... and I love it.. no problems :)
Side effects: Reduced hunger... possible insomnia.. so don't take it after 4 or 5 oclock. Thats what I do.
I took it for a while. Don't recall any serious side effects, or any at all for that matter. The only time I had an issue with it was when I abruptly stopped taking it and was sick for days. That one was my own fault though and nothing wrong with the medication itself.
I am not a doctor, but my mom's family has a history of depression and anxiety. Of my mother, 2 aunts, grandparents, and myself, 1 is on Prozac, 2 are on Wellbutrin, 1 on Zoloft, 1 on Lexapro, and 1 I am not sure. Both of my grandparents and one aunt had to try at least two medications before they found the one that worked for them...and they usually take at least 6 weeks before you adjust to the medication to see if they are working for you or not (except Lexapro, which is newer and results can be seen within 2 weeks - I know I did).
I am not depressed but i was taking welburtrin to quit smoking and it worked great for that, but as for my mood, i was hostile and short tempered and very pissed off and could not sleep for the life of me.
