Did the first one heal?
It sounds as though he may be eating something that is irritating the inside of his mouth. Has he eaten something different lately? Some people get canker sores from certain foods; I get them from potato chips (sounds weird but I did a food diary and discovered that).

Has he had a cold or been exposed to someone who was sick? Perhaps his immune system is compromised a bit. He should try staying away from spicy foods, swish with diluted Listerine at bedtime, and see if these go away. If he continues to get them he may need a check-up to make sure nothing is going on with his immune system.

It means his immune system is lower.

He should take meds for it...Abreva, L-lysine, Vit C 2000mg. every 2 hours.

If this has never happened before maybe he should get checked by MD.

lucky you i get at least 5 at a time! yes it is ok.

i was told by a doctor that canker sores are a kind of showing of an external virus. i have it from this doctor, because my daughter was 3 and had a mouth full of cankers, to use equal parts benedril and keyopectate. sounds stupid but it works. rinse it around in your mouth, every 4 hours or so. the first thing it does is take away the pain. hope it works for you too.
