I need surgery--what do i do?!

Question: I just moved out of state last summer. no one in my family can come down to help. all of my friends ( out of state) work--except for one that has three kids. I work a LOT and don't have really any friends out side of there. The guy I'm seeing works with me and they don't know we are seeing each other so he can't help-plus, I'm not ready to put that kind of strain on our relationship
I need someone to take me to the hospital, bring me home, and stay with me for a day or two. plus, I ALWAYS have complications and won't be able to go back and forth ( I won't be able to drive for a week)
I think I'll just have to do without--unless someone has an idea for me? I'm really stressing this.
Thanks.

Have the surgery done at a hospital closeby relatives or if its not an emergency postphone it or just talk about it at your work or with your doctor the more know about it the more likely a solution will e on itys way but to be so isolated is a bit of a problem just socialize more and cut down on oyr workinghours why do i ve the feeling your health is problemsome due to stress related to too much presure on the job LET no job nor nonone interfere with your health .

does your insurance pay for home health care? you can get a nurse to help you at home, but they are pretty expensive. call a taxi to take you home or you can pay the hospital to use the ambulance to take you home. good luck

talk to your mom and have her come down to your place for a week. she'll do it.

If you need surgery ~ you have to have it. There are agencies that can provide you with transportation and all you have to do is stock up for a week or two on groceries and you'll be fine for a week or 2.. Ask your friend to call you a few times a day or stop by to check on you. It isn't alot to ask a friend to do ~ if they really are your friend.

Don't STRESS about this. Get the surgery you need. And it doesn't hurt to ask for help. Call United Way First Call ~ and there are other agencies that can provide assistance.

Ask your co-workers if they know of a young girl who drives but doesn't work who would be willing to work for you until you get better. Explain she would have to drive you to the hospital and take you home from the hospital and stay for a couple of days taking care of you. College age girls may be willing to make a little extra money. It may cost you a few dollars but it would be worth it in the long run. Get references and be sure to check them out. Also senior centers in most states have women who are dependable and could use the extra income since they are on a fixed budget. This may be a better idea than someone young around your bf who would be visiting you also.

It depends on the type of surgery you are having & the type of complications you are expecting. The MD can order a Visiting nurse if you have a daily nursing need...usually insurance will pay for that...or you can talk with your insurance co. about whether you can go to a rehab post surgery because you have no one to help you. It may also depend on your age as to what benefits might be available to you.

If you can pay for a few hours/day of a home health attendent who can help you.

Good luck

in my town we have seniors that volunteer to drive people in your situation to and from doctor appointments, surgeries, help with after care, etc. try contacting Lutheran social services or project now to see if they can direct you to the proper help. ~?~
