Is my son too sick to go too school tomorrow?!

Question: He had a fever on Friday, so I kept him home. Now he has a very loose cough and is spitting up a lot of gunk. He won't take cough syrup, so I gave him Muccinex instead.
He is bored out of his skull. I am too. I have a lot to do tomorrow and I just want to get back to real life, but don't want to send him back to soon. I am sure he is past being contagious.

Send him -- I'm an elementary school principal. If he doesn't have a fever, isn't throwing up, doesn't have diarrhea or a weird rash, he's pretty much in the same condition as every other kid at school. If he feels good enough to go, let him.

Usually the schools have guidelines for this kind of thing. Check their web site or talk to the school nurse. The only thing about the cough is it can be disruptive in class. Other than that it sounds fine.

most school systems say 24 hrs fever free, lot of parents send snotty nosed kids to school, if he is coughing a lot and you feel like it would be a distraction to other kids I would say keep him home otherwise send him in with a big box of tissue and send the teacher some anti baterial wipes

If hes past contageous the its fine. Hell feel better after tonight.

yes he is u should keep him from school for ever and ever im sure ur son would like this awnser
