Is smoking a bong like smoking a bowl?!
Question: i know a bowl is basically a bong...but does a bong have the hole like the bowl does?
i've only smoked bowls/joints, and i'm not too sure how to smoke a bong. is it basically the same as a bowl, only bigger?

Smoking through a bong is different because of a few reasons. When you smoke a bowl it's usually a small pipe which puts the smoke into your lungs almost immediately. When that happens there's no time for it to cool down which results in the burning sensation in the back of your throat, which I personally hate, likewise for a joint. Using a bong lets the smoke pass through liquid and cools it down so it doesn't burn. A cool thing about bongs is that you can put whatever you want in it, not just water. I had friends that would put ice (cools the smoke) and gatorade, or an energy drink. Gives it a whole different taste which is nice sometimes instead of the same old, same old. Oh, not to mention that you can get waaaay bigger hits from a bong than you can from a pipe or joint, also because of the burning.

no way! way different you get so much higher when useing a bong but it hurts your lungs more!!!

The smoke goes through the water making it cooler and smoother to smoke allowing you to inhale more getting you sooo stoned man.
If you aren't from Amsterdam...then you shouldn't be asking this question. It could land you in jail, being as confused as you are. A bowl, a bong, a hog leg...just smoke the shet if you are going too! There isn't a science to it!
A bong usually will contain water, don't drink it.. but it will bubble up.. You will also have a carburator that you will need to keep a finger on and when you are done sucking in.. you will let go of the carberator and the smoke will go more quickly into your lungs.. It is not the same as a bowl at all.. very differnent and you will get much higher..

Um, I'm old & I fairly remember that a bong is nothing like a bowl. A bong hit is like a straight shot to the lungs. My advice is smoke some reefer while your young then get over it & be productive.

nooooooo! way different. smoking a bong is like a hooka, or a zong or a bubbler they are all pretty simular. you put water in the base of it witch kind looks like a vase and there a hole that you suck out of witch also has the carb attached to it. hooka is for hooka tho and zongs,bongs, and bubblers and all for pot.
no, a bong is much more smoother when done right and ice is added.
when smoking a bowl you feel it in your throat faster and it starts burning a lot quicker than a bong would.

The device of a bong is bigger, but the bowl is not. It all depends what you're willing to spend on one and how big the bowl is, they come in all shapes and sizes.
To save my life I could not tell you about either one. But, I can tell you what you are doing might make you lose yours. Be smarter than that, don't even think about trying such a thing. Surely you can find a way to get high on life not dope.
