Does weight correlate with feet size?!

Question: My three best friends and I are all about 13 years old and around 5'6" or 5'7, but I am the heaviest (209 pounds) and I have the biggest feet (size 13 double wide). I think my friends' weights and feet sizes are 135, 150, 185, and 8, 9, and 11, respectively.

So, out of curiousity, does being heavier always mean longer and bigger feet?

Foot size is more or less genetic. Weight can play a role, as you have seen, by causing feet to spread, as any flexible thing would do under load. Still, I've seen very thin people with feet so long they needed canoes for shoes and some shorter heavier people with disproportionately small feet. There are more factors at play than just weight.

I think height has more to do with it than foot size. Generally taller people have larger feet so it might correlate but it would simply be a secondary correlation of height.

If it helps, last year I weighed 145 pounds and my foot size was 9-1/2 narrow, then I gained quite a bit of weight, I'm up to 192 pounds, and my foot size is now 12 wide.

The thing that surprises me is that it went from narrow to wide.

If you look like a duck...you'll have feet like a duck.

I've lost a lot of weight, and my shoe size went down from a 10.5 D to a 8.5 C. So, yes - in the sense that your feet are longer and/or wider than they would be if YOU were lighter, but it doesn't necessarily mean that there won't be a skinny person out there with bigger feet than you.
