Should I go to work tomorrow???!

Question: I went to the doc thinking I had strep throat.....sure as $hit....according to my doctor it's a 'rampant case'. My throat is swollen shut and I can't turn my head. I don't really feel bad, ouside of the sore throat. My boss is in Hawaii for week long meetings (I pity him...really I do--ha! NOT!)

Everyone else is in the office. I don't know if I should stay home or go to work. As long as I don't talk or turn my head--or swallow, I'm fine.

Strep throat is contagious.
Strep bacteria are spread through coughing, sneezing, and direct contact.
People with strep throat are contagious until 24 hours after their first dose of antibiotics.
So, I would be worried about infecting other people. I don't think your co-workers want strep throat either. Then you will spread it around and more will get sick and miss work.
If your throat really hurts and you can't sleep, and your of age, drink sips of Bourbon. I normally can't stand Bourbon but when you are sick, your taste is lessened and the warmth of Bourbon going down your throat will feel good. Take care and try to rest!

Stay home and rest...

You are contagious, I am sure.

Strep is HIGHLY contagious.

As much as your co-workers could be upset that you call in, they would be 1000 times more upset if you spread this to them and their families.

Stay home and rest...and drink some coca cola. I kid you not, the one time that I had strep, the coke helped burn off some of that strep coating in the back of my throat after it kept "hanging on".

Don't wanna risk givin it to anyone else. Get some rest. If you overdo it you could start to feel seriously bad.
