Hi, being picked on?!
Question: Hi, im 5'10 3/4 (im a man) and lately people have being picking on me saying that I am too short, I have just turned 18, I have just started to come to terms with my height. I though I was average height for a man but know its really getting me down and making me lack in confidence. I know its not a big deal but why are they saying that, am I actually short. HELP.........

Ohhh you are not short! My man is 5"11 and I am 5"3. He is a perfect height! You having nothing to worry about. Plus you're only 18, you still have at least 5 more years to grow. Even if you don't, you are definetly average height. Don't get yourself down!

don't worry about it my cousin is 24 and he's about an inch or so taller than me ( i'm about 5'1 or so).
people will eventually grow up and leave you alone. just play along with it.

Average height for men is actually about 5 9"!!! So you my friend are above average!! You are not short by any means. Dont let it get to you! Im sure you are better then that! Also some men even continue to grow till they are about 21, so your all set!

your not short, you are actually average for a man. My boyfriend is 5'10 also and he never gets picked on. Just be proud of your height. I have to be because I am 5'11, so I get picked on ALOT cause of my height. Just be proud of who you are and how tall you are. You can't help how tall you are, and you can't change it might as well be used to it.
You are not short. I think you are just right. There are plenty of girls shorter than you, and guys too, if you open your eyes and look. And there are plenty of girls that won't mind if you are a little shorter than them. Just make up for it in personality.
they are childish. my boyfriend is 20 and is around 5'10" - 5'11". people have this thing in their head that most men need to be 6 ft tall. i wouldn't sweat it. you are your height. dont let it get you down.
I'm half scottish to dude, sweet, there's nothing wrong with you.
And their just jealous you must have something they want, you should ask them what they've got against you and if their response is negative hey they're jealous it happens all the time.

why worry about what people think? you know how you feel about yourself and if your happy about your height then to hell with everybody else.people are always going to find fault with others,because there not happy with there selves.so dont worry about and be happy.
you ARENT' short theyre just being rude. youre actually pretty tall. im 5'3" and for my age thats about normal but i have a guy friend that is about 6'3" but he is also the same age, and in the same grade and everything. but he calls me shorty and every thing but im not short and i know it, so i just play along with it. but dont let something like this ruin your friendship with your friends. if your friends are who's doing this then theyre probably just trying to pick on you and fool around.
Its not a big deal. Just ignore them. Keep trim and strong. Keep your head up high when you walk, and never let them see you with your head down. This is when they pick on you the most. Show these guys that you really do not care for their comments by ignoring them. Change the subject when they start to tease. Its better to be smart and strong than tall and dumb. The average height for a man is about 5 Ft 8 Ins. Why should you worry.
