Do doctors perform surgery at night?!

Question: Do doctors perform surgery at night? If there is night surgery, is it more expensive compared to day surgery? And what is the difference between the two of them?

Yes, especially for emergency cases. Cost-wise, It depends if there was a doctor available on call. Difference: shifts- day shift and night shift. Otherwise, not much different than any other day.

Only in emergencies. They don't schedule them for night time.

Yes, they do. Sometimes patients require emergency surgery, no matter what time it is. Doctors network with other doctors and take turns being on call. I dont believe its more expensive to have surgery at night.

yeah

Surgeons working in the Emergency room can be on call 24/7. Obstetricians deliver babies 24/7.

Most surgeons schedule their surgeries early in the daytime during the week. But there is always a surgeon on call if someone, for example, needs their appendix removed at 4 am. There is probably an Emergency extra cost. -LL

if its an emergency surgery no time bar, other wise all r done in day time

Well it depends on the type of surgery. Most hospitals around me close their emergency rooms at dark, so they don't have to deal with all the shot-up gang members and drug dealers. I think most cosmetic surgery (like breast augmentations) are done at night, at least that's when the Nip/Tuck show comes on tv. Probably cause the celebrities getting the work done prefer to sneak into the medical center under cover of darkness.
