My stomach growls. Why does it and how can i stop it??!

Question: The growling sound happens when your stomach physically changes shape for some reason. Often this happens when it shrinks in response to having less food inside of it than it may be used to. That's why we often associate it with hunger.

You can't really "stop" this on-demand, so to speak, but one thing you can try is to eat smaller portions on a more regular basis throughout the day, instead of larger meals all at once. Try a healthy snack (yogart, fruit) between your regular meal times and see if that helps.

if you cant eat drink water chew gum or suck on mints.

feed it it is hungry!

You could either be digesting food and it is actually your bowels or you could just be hungry.

eat something, or take a really really big drink of water.

eat and it goes away

ummm...well eat. If you don't want to eat than chew gum. It helps because it gives your stomach the impression that you are eating and stops the growling.

Eat some food

Picture your stomach and intestines as long pipes with lots of cuves... liquid form partialy digested food sits in the curves... as air and gas push through it makes the liquid gurgle... drinking and or eating usually helps fill these gaps and makes the gurgling stop.

Well it growls because its hungry..so feed it some delicious food
