Stress fractures?!

Question: could you get stres fractures from hopping on one barefoot on concrete?

Like if you were landing heal of your foot?

the reason i ask is because i have been doing jump ropes for cardio and i keep landing on the heel of my foot and i have been doing this for like 2 weeks now?

Are you asking because it hurts/is uncomfortable, or because you've always been told shoes are a necessity while working out?

In the first case, you may want to change the way you're exercising -build up slower, find a softer surface, take more care of how you place your foot, or wearing footwear (or wear it part-time if you've always been shod, giving your body time to adjust to exercising barefoot rather than working out barefoot full-time from one day to the next).

In the second case, as long as your feet feel fine, you'll be fine. Shoes can actually cause overloading problems because you lack the feeling in your soles and may miss warning signs. Also since you're less aware of the surface and the shoe sole increases the lever arm, shoes can actually increase the risk of an ankle injury. There are a number of excerpts about exercising barefoot on the page in the source; as long as you listen to your body, it's actually quite good for you. Good luck!

its possible

doubt it.... probably would take months... but I think you would have to be like constantly doing it for that to happen
