What happened to my heart today at the store?!

Question: I was absolutely fine, waiting in line at the store, I dropped my keys, and I went down to pick them up and on my way back up I got really dizzy for only 1 second, and then my heart started POUNDING fast, i couldn't really breath, but I managed to pay for my stuff and when I got to my car I took a sip of my pepsi and my heart went back to normal and everything was ok. i got REALLY scared since my heart beat accelerated and was loud. Anyone know why that happend?
I'm not overweight and I'm not on any medications.

Well, from the evidence given (which is, no offence, lacking,) you got a major form of a blood-rush. I agree with seeing a doctor if this happens often (and just to be on the safe side... XP), but otherwise:

When a rapid bending movement is executed, blood will be forced into the skull by centrifugal force. The blood will remain there until the effect of gravity is able to force the blood into equilibrium again; for example, standing perfectly vertical for an extended period of time, say, if you are standing in a line. This will happed more often with age and height because gravity will pull harder on a, no pun intended, big head.

For example, if you take a water bottle and put a thin tube in the nozzle, make it airtight, and slowly turn it over, the tube will not fill up. However, if you flick your wrist hard enough, the air inside the tube will be forced up, and water will fill the tube. When the water bottle is returned to a neutral position, the water will flow down he tube, back into the bottle.

Hope that helps.

how old are you?

sounds like an anxiety attack to me. They are very common, especially if you have been under stress.

Heart Disease is the number one killer of American women, maybe you should see a doctor?

You may have orthostatic hypotension. When you change positions suddenly your blood pressure drops causing the symptoms you described. Have someone check your blood pressure whlie lying, then sitting, then standing. Best thing to do is to change positions slowly. Sometime this can be the result of dehydration or hormonal imbalances. Best to check with your MD so he can follow up with what might be the underlying cause.
