Try an antihistamine tablet. Histamines are produced by the body and cause the itchy sensation and antihistamines stop the release. Try regular moisturiser and eliminate any possible irritants from your environment.

Are you suffering from dry winter skin? Are you itchy in one specific spot or all over? Do you try moisturizers? Try a moisturizing body wash in the shower. Try a different brand of soap. You could be also allergic to laundry detergent you are using. What do you wash your bedsheets with? Try a different brand without perfumes and dyes.
Have you channged your diet at all recently? Added something new to it? Sometimes you can develop food allergies out of the blue.

I would not want to alarm you, but my mother had an itching problem a few years back and found that showers gave her relief. In the end she went to her doctor and the doctor said it was a kidney probelm. She is now on dialysis for the rest of her life.

In all honesty it could be a number of things, maybe if you changed washing deturgent or something and developed an allergy, or something in the bed at night in which case try vacumming the mattress.

But if there is nothing else you can think of, check it up with your doctor, like my mum you can never be too careful!

It's winter, and with it comes the dry air, cold/hot going from indoors to outdoors and back in. Your hot showers take the natural oils that protect your skin off. In effect, you're stripping yourself of your skin's natural protection.
You might try a non-detergent soap that has moisturizers in it, and finish your shower by using a moisturizer after rinsing. I use my Complex 15 from face to feet while still wet, and pat dry--not rub! The soap I use during the winter is Dove Pro-Age ( it exfoliates and moisturizes at the same time--gets rid of that dusty look/feel my dry skin gets from showering!
