I always wondered...is overdosing as a form of death painful in anyway?!

Question: just curious

Answers: just curious

i wanted to know this too...star

I've heard of people foaming at the mouth and having seizures and things like that, but I'm not completely sure.

Gee that is a hard question to answer who knows for sure the ones that actually did and were successful are not here to tell us how it felt. But what if you goof it up and end up a vegetable on a ventilater for years and years the family would suffer greatly soo not worth it to destroy lives. Every action has a reaction.

I don't believe so... My brother died of an overdose less than a year ago and the girl he was with said he was laughing then he fell to the ground and started snoring then stopped breathing. So it sounds like he didn't feel a thing. But this is just one case out of many. =.)

Hard to say because the people who have done it are dead. But I remember reading that Kavorkian (however you spell it), the guy who assisted suicides, didn't do a great job of it. One woman he helped die suffered for minutes before dying - couldn't breath. He used some kind of drugs.

That would depend entirely on the particular drug that one overdosed on. Some drugs render a person unconcious, then they basically "forget to breathe." However, other drugs can cause a heart attack, seizures, and all kinds of horrible effects that lead to death.

I do hope this is just a curiosity and not for personal usage information. If it's something you're considering, please, seek help, ok? Call a hospital and ask for a suicide hotline number.

If you are thinking of suicide, the manner or pain at death will be the least of you worries. Think of the people you leave behind, and if the religions are right, what the consequences will be.
